Light Plant Construction

The next exciting chapter in Preston will begin soon.  As residents drive up Gillet you will see construction taking place in front of the electric plant.  A portion of the front of the building will be dismantled in order to tuck the new generator into the building.  This project means that the parking spaces directly in front of the electric plant will be unavailable for parking.  Please know that there is extra parking around the library building.  This is a major project that the current progressive city council approved.  The installation of the new generator will ensure if Preston were to loose electricity coming from the grid we will be able to generate our own electricity even during peak electric load on the hottest summer day.  I want to thank all residents in advance for their patience during the installation and reconstruction phase of the electric plant.  If you have any other questions please contact the clerk’s office.
